When you work in teamwork or in your office, it is a must for you to cooperate with the rest of the community. However, you need to realize that competition also required in measuring the success of your career. How does it work? Well, if you win in a fair competition, it means that you are capable in your job and your boss can count on you. Also, you are performing a fair competition with the performance not by dropping somebody else or seducing your boss.
Here are the most common tricks to win in a fair competition.
1. Play all the company’s rules. It is important thing for you to survive in a competition by set all the regulations of your company in your performance and attitude. If you have played by all the regulations, your competitor can not drop you by saying you are a violator. Just play in the safety zone, ok?
2. Don’t get stuck on your job description only. Yes, you already have your job description, but if it’s possible why don’t you help your office-mate doing her job? Or maybe you can promote yourself to do certain job. Being a pro-active will prove what you can do more for the company.
3. Strategy. To survive in the competition, you should play with strategy. You should understand much more about the atmosphere and the politics in your office. If the company is setting inflexible regulations, just stick on in.
4. Time Management. Don’t waste your time by finishing your job in overtime day by day. Manage your time in doing your job wisely. Finish your job by setting a priority scale.
5. Show that you are a multi-skilled person. Never dream that your boss will suddenly give you a promotion if you just have a standard ability. Don’t stop learn something new, for example a new computer program which supporting your work.
6. Learn from your mistake. If you had a mistake in your job, learn from it and never do the same mistake. Show that you are competent and able to learn something new.
Well, nobody’s perfect but perfection can be achieved. Show you are a real survivor in the fair competition in your office. You will never know the field of battle if you never get in there.
