Women Stop Wearing Black, Please!

12,602 Views POSTED ON May 23rd, 2010

Why am I making this statement? As I was glancing through two business magazines this morning, I noticed a trend gone horribly wrong. Every woman in each of the business photos were all wearing black. As I reached for my little black computer to write this protest, I accidentally caught a peek of my own closet where a child left the door open while searching for black shoes to borrow. Oh my, all I see is black, with a dotting of white, and maybe a tiny bit of red. White of course is for the white blouses one wears with black. Red was introduced two years ago to show my college spirit at the institution where I teach computer classes.

So how did this happen? Somewhere in my business life, black was introduced to women so they could gain supremacy in business. However, all my clothing acquired black dominance. My children had mentioned it a few times, that I must really like black, but since “goth” was in; they didn’t complain. I need to make a stand and de-black my closet. Women, if it is black - take it back!

Therefore, if you love your bust but not your belly, then you want your bathing suit to show off your chest while covering up your belly. Micro weft hair extensions are in vogue and are usually preferred by teenagers who are forever opting for a changed look. In fact this is one of the major fashion statements of the recent times. Basically, the weft is hair sewn at the top. There are two types of wefts – the machine and hand weft that are sewn by machine and hand respectively. However, in terms of quality, the weft can be remy and non-remy. Now, if you are wondering what is remy hair, it is the virgin or unprocessed hair. This is preferred by most users who are keen to opt for a unique style.

The handmade wefts are a popular choice as they are custom made as per your specific needs. They can be made via various processes and here we take a look at a few of them.

Flattracks:

Lip Augmentation - The Raw Facts

3,196 Views POSTED ON March 17th, 2010

Lip augmentation is one of the most popular cosmetic procedures. Last year, approximately 264,000 people underwent lip-plumping surgery. With fuller lips one can create a more youthful, vibrant look. This is primarily achieved through injections and grafting.

A sensitivity test should always be performed prior to the actual procedure. Because the body slowly absorbs the collagen, results usually only last one to three months although the procedure can be repeated as many times as desired.

Fat harvested from other areas of the body - usually the abdomen or thighs - can also be injected into the lips. One great advantage to this procedure is that there is no possibility of an allergic reaction, although as with collagen the results are temporary.

Topical anaesthesia is generally used before injections so the procedure involves no discomfort. Most people are able to return to their normal routine within two days. Grafts usually involve more pain and a longer recovery period. Local anaesthesia is used in grafting.

Local anaesthesia makes the procedure painless but may lead to discomfort later. Recovery time may take one to two weeks and the patient may experience some problems with drooling. Grafting can also leave lips feeling unusually stiff for up to two to three months.

The History of Necklaces

2,478 Views POSTED ON March 4th, 2010

Before this discovery the oldest known necklace to have been found about 30,000 B.C. They are made mostly of shells, bones, stones, animal teeth or claws, strung on a thread. Basically the same concept is used today though there are some variations

In 2500 B.C. gold was starting to be used in neck jewelry. Gold neck adornments and chokers have been discovered at the Royal Grave of Ur. They are in what is now known as Iraq. 2000 B.C. was when Sumerian bead neck jewelry started to use alternating patterns of colored stones and gemstones and metals such as copper or silver.

Ancient Egyptian neck jewelry evolved from simple stringed beads to complicated patterns and include the ‘broad collar’ and pectoral type. They were worn by both sexes, mostly royals and wealthy citizens. They were often buried with their dead owners.

During the Classical Greek period from about 480 to 300 B.C. most necklaces were three dimensional pendants. They were mostly in the form of heads, seeds, or acorns. They were suspended from a row of flat elements usually some type of rosettes.
