How to Overcome Your Chewing Habit while Working

Depression because of your job will make you think to do something to overcome it. Some psychologists say that some persons will do an oral activities such as chew, eat or even scream, to deal with their depression. Well, now let’s talk about chewing habit. Chewing habit not only comes because of depressed moments, but also when you are really hungry during workhours. Most of people will choose snacks or junk food. If you regularly do this of course it will be bad bad for health considering the cholesterol and other additive substances inside snacks or junk food. Here I have some ideas to overcome this habit.

1. Replace it with the healthy one

If you can not directly stop your chewing habit, replace it with the healthy one. You can replace the snacks or junk food with low cholesterol yogurt and fruits. Another option is low cholesterol beans which you can keep it in your desk drawer at your office. So if you need to chew something, you can take it whenever you want it.

2. Water please…

Well, you can try to stop the desire to eat or chew with water. At first, maybe it is hard to be done but if you always drink water as much as you wish, you will get used to it. Water has many benefits to our body especially if you work in an air-conditioned room. Drink many glasses of water will make your skin stay moist.

3. Collective awareness

Chewing habit sometimes comes because of the neighborhood effect. What I mean is if people around you are chew-ers, I bet you will follow this habit. So, if you have an idea to stop this bad habit, why don’t you share it to your workmates who are in the same room? At first, collect money from everyone and draw it to decide who will buy fruits for all of you. It will be great to make all of you stop this habit and of course become more health.
