Are You Pregnant or Not? Let’s Recognize the Early Symptoms

5,628 Views POSTED ON November 4th, 2008

Talking about pregnancy, well I think it’s mostly about a choice or decision. But before you decide to get pregnant, just make sure you are ready and know the symptoms. It is easy to decide whether you are pregnant if you use tester or test at the doctor.

If you’re not keeping track of your menstrual cycle or if it varies widely from one month to the next, you may not be sure when to expect your period. Period is the number one signal if you are pregnant or not. However you may know if you pregnant or not from certain symptoms. So, what are the symptoms? Here they are.

Your Breast

When you get pregnant, the levels of hormones will increase and it makes your breast more sensitive (sore), tender and swell. The soreness may feel like an exaggerated version of how your breasts feel before your period. Your discomfort should diminish significantly after the first trimester, as your body adjusts to the hormonal changes.

Implantation bleeding

Well, this is not happen to all pregnant women, but some women have a small amount of vaginal bleeding (very light) around 11 or 12 days after conception (close to the time you might notice a missed period).  Some say it caused by the fertilized egg burrowing into the blood-rich lining of your uterus but no one knows for sure.

Fatigue

This is a common symptom but nobody knows what makes this happens. Well, this can be cause by other factors, but if combined with other symptoms, it may be an indicator of pregnancy.

Nausea or vomiting

About half of women with nausea feel complete relief by the beginning of the second trimester. For most others it takes another month or so for the queasiness to ease up.

Headaches

Many women associate headaches with premenstrual symptoms, but headache can also be one of the signs of pregnancy.  Headaches usually begin about the sixth week of conception and often napping can help relieve them.

Odors sensitivity

Even though you have already known all your favorite food can make you eat as many as possible just as soon as you smell, when you pregnant one or more of your favorite food will be so disgusting for your nose.

Abdominal bloating

Hormonal changes in early pregnancy may leave you feeling bloated, similar to the feeling some women have just before their period arrives. That’s why your clothes may feel snugger than usual at the waistline, even early on when your uterus is still quite small.

Frequent urination

During pregnancy the amount of blood and other fluids in your body increases, which leads to extra fluid being processed by your kidneys and ending up in your bladder. Unfortunately, this makes you want to go to the bathroom all the time. Day by days, it will worsen as your pregnancy progresses as the baby grows and puts pressure on the abdomen.

A missed period

If you always keep your period on track, it will be easier to know whether you pregnant or not. If you have got all the above symptoms but you didn’t keep your period on track, I think it’s better for you to buy some tester at the nearest store. Pregnancy is counted from the first day of a woman’s last period.

High Basal Body Temperature

If you’ve been charting your basal body temperature and you see that your temperature has stayed elevated for 18 days in a row, you’re probably pregnant.

Well, those are the common symptoms, but those can be vary to some women. Although most pregnancies are uncomplicated, dangerous situations can develop. If you experience a sharp pain on the side in early pregnancy, or bleeding and/or cramping at anytime during pregnancy, call your doctor immediately!
