woman_005.jpgFreckles (also known as ephelides) are small flat brown spots that appear on sun-exposed skin, especially the face and arms. Freckles are inherited and become darker with consistent sun exposure. Ultraviolet rays from the sun activate pigment producing skin cells (melanocytes) to produce pigment (melanin). Increased melanin is manifested as dark or brown spots on the skin. The color producing cells of the body, called melanocytes, become sensitive to sunlight and cause freckles. Prevent Your Skin from Dryness

woman_003.jpgA healthy-shinny skin is everybody’s wish. That’s why many people go to a beautician or professional and spend a lot of money in order to get it. But I have simple tips to prevent you from dry skin.

1. Avoid caffeine, smoking, and alcohol.

2. Drink up! Make sure to drink at least 8 glasses of pure water a day to keep your skin and body properly hydrated. Drink more if you’re super active.

3. Do not wash using soap, as it dries out your skin! – Instead, use an exfoliant. But if you still like a soapy day, you can use super-fatted soaps or cleansing bars because they are less drying than regular, liquid, or antibacterial soaps. Don’t forget to add oil to your bath. Add a tablespoon or so of almond, jojoba, olive, or hazelnut oil to your bath water after you’ve soaked for about 5 minutes. By soaking first, your skin gets plumped up by the water, and then by adding the oil, it will seal in the absorbed moisture. Instead of rubbing, pat your skin dry after you bathe.
